This is a shot taken in 2007 of a section of the branch between Wellingborough and Higham Ferrers which closed in November 1969

It is remarkable that it has not reverted to nature and the track-bed is still obvious

I would love to hear from anybody who has a shot taken at this point (Ditchford Lane) when the line was still active

Thanks to Dave Smith  for this shot

Thanks to David Allen for this shot taken of the RCTS DMU tour to Higham Ferrers on May 18, 1968

I am still on the lookout for steam shots taken from this bridge

Following on from this request Ritchie Tassell came up with an article written by Ian L Wright for the Railway Magazine which features a shot of a Class 27 on this branch.

The article which was in the January 1970 Railway Magazine is reproduced below with their permission

If anybody has a contact for Ian L Wright I would love to make contact with him.

Thanks to Ritchie Tassell for finding this article
