The Peter Brooksby Collection contains a few slides where I have no idea of the location so I thought I would invite the Phantasrail users to put forward their ideas. All that I can provide in the way of help is, usually, the date on the slide. There are 6 pages in this area but most have now been answered Date on the slide is March 1967. It is obviously a Southern Region location with double track third rail, there are oil tanks on the left and what looks like a branch line. The platform at the station is very short, and there is no platform for the other direction. Any ideas please email me I have had Totton suggested by Paul Fishwick and I think he is correct. It would certainly explain the tank wagons. Can anybody please confirm? This is Kings Cross but the query I have is what is the steam loco, and what was it doing pulling a guards van into the terminus in March 1969? Any ideas please email me Tony Walmsley is of the opinion that it is 4472 "Flying Scotsman" with its' two tenders. It was not allowed to run tender first with two tenders unless a guards van was attached. Tony believes that it is actually propelling out of the station as the ground signal 20 yds this side of the brake van is on. Thanks Tony. 4498 "Sir Nigel Gresley" Slide is undated but I suspect 1974 or 1975 Paul Fishwick suggests Hereford for this one, and David Wood agrees.
