With Pwllheli being a terminus station, with a single platform, the rail-tour stock had to be removed to a siding to allow the normal Arriva service unit to operate. The operation was complicated by the fact that the generator coach, which was at the rear of the train on the journey to Pwllheli, had to be moved to become the rear of the train for the return journey.

Having detached the generator coach the rest of the stock is reversed into the siding past the Pwllheli West Frame box 

37427 then ran forward to collect the generator coach
